OVERRIDE PROPOSITION 482 - FACTS
ISSUE
Authorization does not create a new tax, it maintains previously approved funding
Override pays for expenses such as utilities, supplies, salary/benefits and expenses not of a capital nature
Override is a direct way for voters to approve additional funding for programs to better meet local needs
PLAN
If override is not approved, District will undergo an $8-Million budget reduction and unavoidable increases in class sizes
The Override now funds School Aides, Counseling, as well as Remedial, Elective & Advanced classes, Full day kindergarten, Athletics/Phys Ed, Extra-curricular Activities & Fine Arts
DETAILS
Marana voters first approved the 10% M&O override in 2007, renewed it again in 2011 & last renewed it 2016
